I LOVE YOU, MA…can you feel it?

After having dinner tonight, I thought of making me a dessert…mixture of caramel ice cream, mascarpone cheese, pieces of bitter cookies and Amaretto. Hubby only wanted a cup of coffee and a donut as pambara. With the bowl of my dessert in hand, I sat down on the sofa and started eating…all this time, Charlie my pug was watching me and he knew that he’ll get some of it when I’m done. And so he got his share. But I had to give him just a bit, cos it was too sweet. I said ‘no more’ but of course he had seen that there was more in the bowl, so he wasn’t convinced and followed me in the kitchen when I got up. Still giving me an eye, begging for more dessert, I said ‘no, you had enough sweets for today’. I then turned around and start to wash the dishes when I felt a slight ‘thug’ against my leg, I thought Charlie must be leaning against my leg which he often does when I’m in the kitchen. I turned around to give him a pat when I saw him raising his hind leg and starts peeing against my leg!! He peed on me! but can you stay mad at this face? I can’t! Never. Husband sometimes wishes that he’s Charlie, who could get away with everything! (So was Charlie mad for not getting more sweets?) But this wasn’t the first time that I got peed on by an animal. Our neighbor’s cat (RIP) also did numbers on me..on my leg, on my bike and on my shoes. Bram was a male cat who was quite attached to me, than to his own boss. Probably I have this thing they call ‘animal magnetism’..what say you? ——————— while posting this, look what my husband emailed me just now:

THIS and THAT over a cup of coffee

While having my morning coffee, I managed to snatch the newspaper from husband who was tending to our ‘kiddies’ (pets) needs and read about:

- What’s wrong with being a woman?: Japan, the land of advance technology and yet, backward mentality? ( opinion ko ito, huwag nyo naman sana ako habulin ng samurai dahil sa post ko …yung mga bloggerfriends ko naman na nakatira sa japan, correct me if I have posted this inaccurately, domo -hai!) The japanese conservative newspaper Sankei Shimbun has reported that Japan is considering allowing the royal family to adopt a boy as a successor to the throne. The two sons of emperor Akihito have both girls and in order to keep the title, hence a son must be produced. (Ang sa akin lang, why not train the girls to be Japan’s future rulers, mas di hamak na may karapatan sila sa throne keysa sa aampunin – na hindi kadugo ) I wish Japan would take a look around him and see that it is possible for a woman to rule a nation. This report makes me proud of being a Filipino. Poor nation but people are equal. (Mabuhay ang mga Diega Silang! )

- Annoying law makers: Holland. Few days ago, a moroccan nationality on a scooter snatched a bag from inside a lady’s car. The car backed down and the lady behind the wheel supposedly did not know that the thief was behind her ..sandwiched between her car and a tree. Needless to say, the thief didn’t make it, right there died on the spot. Moroccans protested and saying that the young guy who died was a very nice person and not guilty of the crime. Here’s a thought: he was so nice that on the same fatal day, he just got out of jail (was a hold up suspect) and did what he did best. Mahabang istorya, but I already started with this so let me go on, some ridiculous dutch law: If you robbed a bank and get caught, you- the suspect, must pay back all the money you took but any guns, knives , granade or whathaveyous that you purchased to use for that crime is tax deductable! huh?!?! Drugs smugglers/traffickers -and I mean drugs in bulk!- do not get to spend years and years in jail- imagine the severity of punishment they get in Singapore for a gram of cocaine? …dito mas mahigpit pa sila pag walang ilaw ang bike mo or wala kang dalang plastic to pick up after your doggy, fine agad! Murderers are protected too, but not the families who have lost their loved ones… call the police to report a house break-in, police will answer you that they are too busy – I know this for a fact as I have spoken to some break-in victims and also had a conversation with a police guy training in the same gym where I go to…I don’t see the poor guy anymore because I think I annoyed him for saying that they are only busy issuing parking tickets and not solving crimes. Going back to the dead thief, if was still in jail and being rehabilitated using the tax payers money… maybe he’s still alive.

- Annoying rich news: England. Prince Andrew, the second son of queen Elizabeth is reported to be costing the tax payers lotsa money. In 2003 alone, he spent around euro475,000 for flying. In June of that year, he flew from london to Oxford that costed the tax payers euro 4,400 for his 80 kilometers so called lunch meeting. If he had taken the train, it would have only cost euro 142 but the Prince said about an hour and a half sitting in the train was too long. (Dapat sa kanya, ipadala sa third world countries, o kaya sa pilipinas na lang at isakay sa tricycle!..pakainin na rin ng tuyo at bagoong sa araw-araw )

- Happy rich news: USA. Mr. Billionaire Trump marries again for the third time …ah, the advantage of being rich and alimony is never a problem. Melania Knauss’s (bride) gown was worth 100,000 to 200,000 dollars (whew! I can buy us a house for this price.) It was made from 90 meters (98 yards) of white satin embroidered with 1,500 pearls and rhinestones, and took some 550 hours to make, Vogue said. 90 meters long and with all those stones? no wonder it took 550 manpower hours to make the darn gown ( hindi naman kaya nakuba si Melania sa bigat nito? ) anyway, I hope this will be the last wedding for Mr. Trump, salut!

Dinosaur in the sky and uneven feet

In Toulouse, southern France last Tuesday, the super jumbo aircraft ever built was unveiled… the A380, in the presence of European leaders and top investors. inside peek of an A380 superjumbo A380 has a 262-foot wingspan, a tail as tall as a seven-story building that cost $13 billion to develop. Oh la la! This I can’t wait to see and even ride. One of the buyers was Virgin’s big boss, Richard Branson who ordered 6 A380s and said they will offer private double beds for first class passengers and casinos. Hmmm, what about us economy class passengers? :-( Singapore Airline alongside Emirates will be the first to offer A 380 flights in Asia in mid 2006. I guess my question is, how much will the tickets cost? What do you think?

Tuesday I had to do my grocery so I left home in my bicycle ( I’ve no car and no license..kawawa naman ano? ) even though neck is still hurting and was a bit difficult to bend it down, had to perform my duty as housekeeper. When I left home, it was dry. At the mall, I saw that one of the shoe stores was still having a final sale (went bankrupt) which I ignored the past 2 weeks because I do not need new shoes. But this time, I looked inside and saw about 20 pairs still on display. I then found 5 pairs of ugly looking shoes with 80% off… still, I tried them on, you know why? They didn’t come in pair but of two sizes. And I do have a left footie which is smaller than my right. It took me a while to decide whether to buy them or not then I figured, summer is about in the corner ( atta fighting spirit!…it’s still winter here) and I can use them then. Also the price was not bad at all. From +Euro 140, 00 for 3 pairs, I paid Euro 16,20….now that’s a steal.

Ugly shoes but I love the sizes…..spot the difference?

then I hurriedly bought my grocery. As I went outside, rain was pouring with fine ice and wind was blowing hard , to add insult to injury. I decided to wait until it eases up but then I remembered that I bought some frozen stuffs that needed to be kept cold. So I hurriedly run to my bike, loaded the grocery to the side bags but I had too much grocery ( as usual) so I had to keep one bag in hand while riding back home. Since it was raining with hagel (ice) and harsh wind banging my extra bag- one hand on the bike’s handle- I tried hard to balance the wheels with tears in my eyes from wind, ice and water. Needless to say I was a very wet duck , from head to toe, when I got home. My husband saw it all and wondering why I wasn’t cranky. He then saw the bag w/ shoes and said with eyes rolling: “What is it with women and shoes?!”
