God is Good!
Oh yes HE IS!
Last Friday (24th) we’ve received some marvelous news, exactly what we have been praying for. Just after father-in-law’s second chemo treatment, he tried to walk unaided without the usual two aids beside him and was able to, few steps and legs pretty shaky but he did it ..walking on his own was not allowed but he’s actually feel embarassed to call the nurses each time he wanted to pee, he often said that the nurses have too many patients to attend to and need a break especially in the middle of the night, that’s why the determination to walk is much stronger because that’s how he is…he hates to burden people., and also sensation is slowly coming back to his lower body, he’s probably got about 20% of it now. The doctors are hoping that he’ll regain his full lower body strength after this second chemo treatment and future physical therapy, but for us, this is a milestone for an 80 year old, and truly thanking the chance in life that he’s been given again (second time to combat cancer) he wants to throw a party when he’s discharged from the hospital, well..we’re all for that!
I have told my DIL about you guys who are praying for him - of course I had to explain ‘blogging’ - and he’d like to extend his sincerest THANKS to the following:
stel, joie, pinayhekmi, schatzli, jing, jayred, jeff, annabanana, rhada, justice, hazel, sachiko, carms, girlie, scanns, evi, jary, boks, ka uro, amie, celia K, luchie, thaley, toni, tin, beng, lucci, neo and to all the phone calls, emails, & yahoo messages…thank you, from me and my family. Please, may I ask you to continue including my FIL in your prayers, thank you so much.

Call me Thess. Married to a wonderful Dutchman.

Halleluia!! That is awesome news! I just learned of another friend’s discovery of their cancer and hope she fights as hard and as successfully as dear Joop. Truly inspiring!

PINAYHEKMI: it is! it is!..I hope your friend fights back by being positive -I know that this is easier said than done- but there’s hope. Your friend will be in my prayers.

Amen to that!! God is Good!!! I’m so happy at this latest development. A word of caution though dear neighbor, I know Joop is a strong-willed fella and could probably do whatever it is he puts his mind into. But tell him please that it is not bad to ask for help. The nurses are there to assist him. I remember my mom’s mother-in-law, our dear “mama”, she was that way too. When she was diagnosed with brain tumor and had to spend time in the hospital, she refused to ask for help as well. She insisted on going to the WC by herself. Unfortunately, she slipped and hurt her hips badly. And you could just imagine how agonizing it was for her. She passed away 2 springs ago, but we certainly have fond memories of this one very strong-willed and loving woman!

anyway, God is really good! i’m so glad your FIL is recovering gracefully. i admire his courage to regain his strength. he must be a really nice guy. nurses and doctors would love to have patients like him, with prayers on the side that he will get well soon!

prayers can move mountains, my favorite line since my mom also underwent chemo…so far, she says, she feels ok, pero syempre there are follow-up tests to be done and we’re all praying and already thanking God for her recovery!
more strength to your FIL, ok na siya for sure. claim it na!
