Ber is here to stay
Saan nagpunta si September?! Nandyan lang sya kanina ah!
How time flies! Before I know it, I’ll be 70 (God willing) sitting in my rocking chair looking out the window and seeing young people passing by, me thinking: “I wish I could still walk the way I used to, without the help of my sticks, without metal screws in my hips, without backpains, walk hand in hand with my husband (by the way, in this scenario, he could still walk perfectly, has lost 30 pounds and looking like in his 50’s) and instead biting into an apple than having it served to me (by nurses?) pureed!”
nakakatakot na pangitain, ngee!
I guess months of Ber bring such story in my head. Ber when nights are longer, days are shorter, when its cold and rainy outside. Ah Ber, you’re such a joy killer!
Time to bring out those heavy jackets, thicker shoes, shawls, hand gloves and yes - paraplu! (umbrella)
But I guess it’s not all bad when Ber arrives. That means pears in our backyard are ready for harvesting. Sweet desserts! My father-in-law would always say (always because each time he visits, say many times a month *wink* ) “that tree produces the best pears for poaching” I thought of recording it and just playback it to tease him..hmmm, I might just do that! :D )
anyway, together with my assistant pear picker (who else but my sidekick, Charlie) we harvested pears 3x in September and made [several times already] desserts using the free fruits.

I’m here from Charles and say hello from Norway!
I know fall can be hard after a lovely, warm summer. But then again, there is always some beuty in all four seasons and how could we apricate summer that much, if we don’t experience a bit of the oposite.
Wish you a good week too:-)
