Vacation in Thailand to be exact! How I miss the tropics, sun, food, beaches, nothing to do but relaxation..oh la la. Unfortunately I neither have gold bars nor millions in the bank so, saving up is the only thing that I can do to make this vacation dream happen this year.

Seriously, we need to go on vacation, especially my husband who has been working non stop the last 2 years. Perhaps it’ll happen this year…if he’ll stick to our agreement just last night that we’ll soon book!

I am quite fascinated at the ‘junk’ people bring in for restoration. JUNK for us from the outside world who have no knowledge about antiques like classic cars and anything under the sun. But because of this program I now appreciate restored pieces, I really do. From old gum machine from the 1940′s that had I found it I’d quickly throw it away, but instead the restorers would do their best, find those difficult parts to be replaced (if missing) work on it then present to the owners .. like it came straight from the factory!
But it isn’t just old stuff that are being brought in, new as well. Sometimes they’d get new stuff like cars for reparation too.

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah…guys, if you haven’t seen it yet, look for American Restorations, you might like it and who knows, you might get inspired to have any old stuff you got at home get restored.

They are all over the place! Well, they are all over my studio slash hobby room. It’s time to do some spring cleaning and I’m hoping to neatly arrange them in shelves. I was advised by my husband to do shelving in the past but I did not listen to him since I had a cabinet then but now that it’s overflowing with the stuff I meantioned earlier, I think I really need to find me some sturdy shelves.

This is what ‘spring cleaning’  brings…. extra light so that I am forced to clean up my clutter and much needed house chores. But no complains there, I just need to do what needs to be done.

I have a 3m x 3m kitchen that when my husband and I are in it, it feels a bit claustrophobic. I also wish I had extra cupboards as I still have kitchen appliances, bulky ones like a mixer, that need to be kept away. It would be nice as well if I can get a mixer lift that I can easily get the appliance out simply by pulling the lift and and stash it away by pushing it back. Yeah that easy…

OR perhaps I can request my husband to give me a bigger kitchen? :D

Normally I would go straight to the photography section or cookbook section. So we went our separate ways. BUT it didn’t lasted long as we were both astounded to find the 3 sections almost empty! We couldn’t believe our eyes as how ‘empty’ the bookstore has become? Was there a rampage of book buyers that was there before we arrived?

No. It’s because ordering books online has taken over bookstores! Yeah I can imagine this as people do prefer iBooks or tablets when reading. But still there are a bunch of us who prefer a solid hardbound book to use. Sigh,  our ways of life is really changing fast. But it’s not all bad. Because there are free books online that are available for everyone to grab. So even if I prefer a real book, I wont pass up on free reading materials for my tablet to download. :)

I got way too many unprocessed, untouched photos both in my laptop and iPhone that I seriously am running out space! Throw them away? No, I don’t and I can’t, unless they’re pretty crappy! I just need to have the time to work on them for posting.

Like this one, shot with iphone4s only. I’m pretty impressed how it turned out. Much better than the shots I made with my Canon5dm2 that crazy cold night in Rotterdam many weeks ago.

Sometimes I wonder why I still carry my bulky dslr when iPhonecam could give what I wanted. Oh wait, not totally…..I still prefer using my dslr bodies for more serious photography :)

It still is quite cold around here, our heater burns the whole day so we’re expecting explosion of energy bills, ugh! But but but, there are some people in my neighborhood, a guy to be exact, who wouldn’t care less if it’s Spring, summer, fall or winter. He does make a noise with his instruments playing! He does this often during springtime and summer and oh boy, I heard him this weekend playing his drumset pretty loud! He must have used drum mics this time because I could hear a bit of echo and reverb. Like playing alone isn’t enough ha ha! But I have no problems with that actually, being an ex musician I get him, totally. Besides, he’s actually getting better with his sticks, unlike when he was just starting to learn the drums, those were really painful to hear, lol!

I do take a LOT of photos, most of them in RAW format, and you know that RAW takes a big chunk of your machine’s memory and not only that, it does make the machine slower!! The latter I hate the most! I don’t like it whenever I am post processing photos and I have to wait just for a window to load.

So I need to find out if this speed up xp can help me save my machine, help me make it faster again. External memory you say? I’ve that and still not enough space!

My husband’s been telling me to swim with him in the morning. He swims with a friend 2 or 3 times a week or whenever possible. But I also hear that most mornings water is cold pools are in need of pentair heat pumps but with the recession, pool owners just don’t do enough to warm their pools. So will that make you want to swim? I understand that swimming is a good form of exercise, but cold water?!

I know, I know…I’m just full of excuses. And I know it.
Help!!
