fine weekend that was
for Charlie most of all!
We’ve decided to go to Hoek Van Holland (beach) yesterday for fresh air, & yes it was chilly. Going to the beach or near the sea is pretty normal for dutch people even during winter as long as the sun shines, which was the case yesterday. There was quite a number of people and dogs enjoying kilometers of beach & sand. Did me and my husband good just walking side by side, watching the youngest member of our family enormously enjoying himself, his first time to see the ocean, run totally free & play with many dogs.
It was a pleasure seeing Charlie, running like crazy, going to dogs of all sizes to ‘introduce’ himself, and at all times obeying our calls when he would run a bit too far. For the first time, we saw him actually ’smiling’ when we’d call him back , usually he’d not listen and played deaf when it’s time to go home. But yesterday, he was a perfectly obedient little doggy.
Husband and I said to one another that we should go to the beach often.

‘Cut my working schedule for the day, I’ll be busy in the kitchen to cook a special dinner for the birthday man, my husband. No visitors, just us because it’s a bit of an ‘odd day’ (monday) to celebrate, so we’ll do a small celebration this coming weekend.
It would have been a perfect birthDAY if the sun was shining..*sigh*

Glad to know you had beach fun with hubby and Charlie. I like the “floating on air” photo of Charlie. Great capture!

im not good in swimming. but my family goes to the beach at least once a month. it’s always a wonderful time to be together. when i was small, i used to bring our dog and mama would carry her to the water. Dogs look cuter when they swim.
