My temperature yesterday was a bit high, had a medium headache and we ran out of paracetamol. So I had no choice but to drink ( to at least ‘clean my system’ ) a liter of water which I am not really fond of – that’s why my bowel movement really ‘ moves ‘ sssslow – hmmm, Am I allowed to say that here?
wala na akong sikreto!
But I really felt better when J came home mid afternoon from his fishing ‘expedition’ with a bag of fresh catch, 4 forrels which weighs about a pound & a half each and his fishing buddy gave us 1 salmon of about 1 & a half kl. That was a successful day for them ( next time, I’ll tag along since I have been wanting to do fishing, hey! women can FISH huh! ) Anyway, one big kiss from hubby, headache became less and I was immediately busy planning dinner, salmon on the menu ( stashed the forrels in the freezer, saving ‘em for future BBQ )
So i started preparing dinner..boiled vegies in water w/ bouillon, risoto rice with champignon, some new dutch potato in butter and easy salmon on the grill. I always taste what I’m cooking so with excitement I gave the salmon a pinch and BLEH!
the poor thing tasted muddy or GILIK as my mom calls it. I tried to cover the taste with sprinkles of japanese soya but the taste was just too strong. Hubby and dad in law tasted it and they both agreed to throw the thing away. Poor fish. Luckily I’m the local Mrs. McGyver, always with a back up plan, the jill-of-all-trade and what have you…so I took 2 boxes of specially prepared fish out the freezer, placed them in the hot oven and needless to say our dinner went well…too well it ended with triple layered chocolate ice cream. And all 3 of us are dieting too.
Btw, I always give my girlfriends this tip: always make sure that you can whip up the best dessert as it will always ‘mask’ if main course was a disaster…odivah?
After all the dish was done, I asked my dad in law if he’s interested to play a game…he’s maybe 79 years old,
a hip has been replaced , but he’s still full of life and I love introducing new things to him, fortunately he’s always up for the challenge…so he said “bring it on, woman”. So I turned the PS2 on and inserted the formula race 2003 CD, which I wasn’t sure he’ll like because, man! that aint easy to stir….so I showed him the control, buttons & everything and he was on his way. I was surprised because he kept playing for maybe 20 minutes..cool ‘ young ‘ dude eh?! when he finally had enough, he was like this—–>
But of course I gotta play too so I asked hubby if we could play against each other…and as usual I won, I WON!! hahahaha….nah, probably he lets me often win…cos he loves this old chick ![]()
That’s it, we’re off to Rotterdam in a while, that is if the weather permits cos it’s becoming gloomy outside. Ciao dear bloggie!
