Heaven Sent!
I almost went berserk! when I again saw this Filipino stall in Rotterdam’s Saturday market. I actually have seen this stall in the past (about 3 months ago) and I even bought a mango puree. But that was at the end of the day, I was already tired and taking no mental notes, besides… the guy behind the stall looked nothing at all like pinoy which maybe the reason why it didn’t sticked my mind that his stall actually existed.
Like any normal saturday when the market is on it’s final hour, I would buy my flowers from my ’suki’ . The flowers then are cheaper and ’suki’ in his attempt to get rid of the flowers would lower down the price. And mind you, the flowers are not at all just left overs or ‘pinagpilian’ but really fresh and nice. So I was on my way to his stall when suddenly, I saw this pinay-looking lady behind a stall and then I recognized the can of ’skyflakes’ . I of course stopped on my track and suddenly has forgotten about my flowers, I re-routed to the pinay and her pinoy goods. How I miss pinoy (some) goods! Needless to say I bought things I didn’t really needed like the UBE Otap (€ 4.30 x 60.30Php my goodness! ginto ano?!)- which I already knew would taste nothing like ube, but heck! I bought a can, also Halayang Ube in the jar (which I knew as well would only taste sweet and far from being ube..tigas ulo!) luckily she sells ‘calamansi’ juice and I bought one (still chilling in my ref, I wonder how it tastes?) banana ketchup (which I will use to make me a pinoy sweet spaghetti that I truly miss!) and if I have given in to her charm, I would have bought more unnecessary stuffs. It was also fun talking to her though she started to ask questions that I would normally not ask someone I barely know :8-}: ..but all’s good, she’s nice and I will definitely seek her stall again, she’s told me they do not stand there every saturday though (that explains me forgetting it was there)..luckily she’s got an online store.

You sound so happy to have found this stall/online store!
I’m blessed: one of my cell groupmates sells Philippine/Filipino products in Zurich. And there are Asian markets here that sell Pinoy treats including our “mangga.”
Have a nice week! God bless.
