I’m a star
Why do some people need to be popular? What does popularity mean, really? What lengths some people will do just to be it!
Let’s call the character ‘G’ who is a married guy, teaches music and leads a choir locally. G has this urge to be better than everybody around him. He had the experience to be on television when his choir participated in a contest (they did not win) which was aired locally. Him and his choir were on television few times since they reached the finals. G’s wife, K, also joined the choir just to be on that contest, to be seen on television.
One day, K got upset. While she and her husband were strolling in a mall, a lady came up to G and greeted him. The lady recognized him from the television program. K hurriedly said to the lady : “what about me, didn’t you see me? I was also there” and went away disappointed.
Anyway, the thirst is so strong that these two will do anything just to be popular. G, according to him was approached by a television producer to do a ‘reality show’ involving his family (they have kids.) The reality show around this family will be documented during a vacation. So they were so mad happy when the entire family received free plane tickets, beautiful promises from the producer and then flew to one popular city in Europe.
But when they got there, they realized that they were not booked in a hotel but was given a caravan which will be their home for the entire ‘vacation. The caravan’s heater was broken. They also learned that the cameramen and production people will be staying in a hotel. The entire family, especially G and K were so disappointed! Do you think they turned around even after learning all these?
Ah, ‘celebrity’ status. Will be seen on tv. Well sure, I might watch it when it’s aired next month. But I know I’ll be shaking my head. They will be ‘popular’ alright. But I don’t think it’s the kind of popularity anybody would wish for.

e siyempre reality show, kaya the producers will make it as “real” as possible, hehe. panoorin mo next month tapos kwento mo sa amin kung ano ang tunay na kulay na lumabas sa kanilang adventure hehe. :D
