IPOD? no thanks
Or any mp3 players for that matter..nooooo, thank you..I shall not buy them! Well at least I will not purchase one here in Holland.
The dutch law makers are really such ‘geniuses’ when it comes to TAX. They will come up with all the ridiculous ideas just to extract tax from the mass. Heard of tax over VAT? yep! we do have them here.
They’re now busy trying to get a new mp3 player tax approved. For every 1GB that you purchase, you have to pay an extra of €3.+ over the whole item’s amount.
Should I decide to buy (granting I win the lotto) a 6oGB Ipod that normally costs €459,00 in Dixons
then multiply that to let’s say, €3.50…the Ipod would then cost €669,00.
sweet mother of Charlie! :ngii:
Who knows, maybe someday they’ll tax the very air that we breathe.

Call me Thess. Married to a wonderful Dutchman.

Thanks for reading my ‘Gerench’ blog entry. Would love to write stories for your animal group blog, but my dog is already “dedbol.” :-( Puede bang post-mortem story doon, hehe?
I would be waiting for that “spasmodic” poster for the W.W.C.D. blog. :-)
God bless!

thess, netherland and germany are the same when it comes to taxes. we are currently paying 16% vat but recently, the goverment is planning to have a 2% raise. to hell with the politician, hindi na nila inisip ang kapakanan ng madla.
April 27th, 2005 at 1:50 pm
YMIR wag ka na maingay at baka marinig ka nila..shhh
BENG terrible, isn’t it? according to statistics, a lot of nederlanders are travelling to neighbouring countries like germany, belgium and france just to buy basic needs, simply because they are a lot cheaper outside. I for one don’t mind travelling to the border just to do my groceries. Isa pa, at least germany walang binubuhay na royalties na walang pakinabang kundi higupin ang parte ng sueldo ng naghihirap sa kakatrabaho! !*%!$!@
April 27th, 2005 at 2:56 pm
i’m starting to hate capitalism and most of all the globalization. germany has lost it’s green pasture. german folks are worried about the salary dumping issue. lots of famous firms are closing and moved either in china or Poland. alam mo we don’t have royals here but our high ranking politicians naman ang sumisipsip sa lahat ng pera. they are all leech!!!
April 27th, 2005 at 3:11 pm
BENG breath in, breath out..husss husss..oh ayos ka na? he he, hinayhinay na lang tayo, mahina na puso nating 2, ha ha ha

i was shocked with the prices of ipod back in ireland. it was more expensive numerically than in US. imagine, if you have to convert it to USD, it becomes way too much expensive!!!
May 3rd, 2005 at 11:34 am
matagal na akong salivating over an ipod. and stories like yours just puts it way beyond my reach na talaga! :bert:
