Mills & Boon
I had a big collection of Romance Novels by Mills & Boons back in the 80’s. I remember setting aside a fraction of what I earned from helping my mother in our store just to buy them. My sisters now own my collection.
It wasn’t a mere coincidence that I got hook on reading romance novels but it was when I started to take interest on my aunt’s thin pocketbooks that she left behind when she moved out of the house. After reading the first novel, I couldn’t stop reading the next and the next until I finished her collection that I had to start my own.
Mills & Boons writers can really give you that romantic feeling on each read. In each book, I was always looking forward reading how handsome that ‘prince charming’ was, how he would sweep her lady off her feet. I actually would base on the male character each book that I’d purchase. If he was described as tall, dark, muscled, with deep voice, penetrating gaze…then I was sold. *LoL*
The way I would describe my first love. “He was like the leading male character out of an M&B novel” I told myself when we had our first date. Oh, I tell you, the feeling was just tickling! Especially the first kiss! Oh dear Lord, why am I telling you this?! I should stop before I tell it all.
Which reminds me, I should start collecting M&B again. Reading romance novel doesn’t have to stop once you’re married. In fact the more you should read them. Could give you a new tip or two.

Call me Thess. Married to a wonderful Dutchman.
