MOON up close | Weekend Snapshot # 18

This was one ‘elusive’ subject for me since I did not have a zoom lens that was needed to capture it this close. So when the chance finally came, I was thrilled. Being not a professional photographer and able to capture the moon..well I guess it has given me great pleasure. Don´t you have that feeling too when you´re able to take nice photos using your novice know-hows?

This first image I was able to capture yesterday afternoon between 4pm-5pm. The temperature was low and the sky was really blue and clear. I had to take at least 20 shots just to be able to come up with an okay image. I was not using my tripod (my neighbors were looking at me and I just wanted to finish shooting quickly) and I was shaking from cold and my hands were not steady due to fatigue. You will also notice the noise on the photo (that means my setting was wrong…in my hurry I turned the wrong setting) ….I hope to capture it again in the future using the correct setting.

This night shot I took last Friday (Feb. 15) between 8pm-9pm. It wasn’t weekend yet here in Holland but already was in Asia …so that’s still legal for this meme *lol*

I took several shots that night and this was probably the 15th shot among the set. I think it’s much better if you view the larger scale….just click the image. Notice a difference in this evening moon from the afternoon moon?

    galing you got the elusive moon on cam :) i’ve always tried to do that except that i don’t have a high-lens camera. anyway there’s such an enchanting look to the moon whenever it’s photographed talaga.
