silk flowers and plants

I am allergic to pollen particles. If you could only see my red and running nose right now, you’d say I might be sick or something. But that’s the sad truth springtime brings me. Thanks to the antihistamine that I’m taking, otherwise this allergy is a lot worse like some years ago. I am still lucky though, because my allergy isn’t as acute as my friend’s. She ’s afraid to step out of her house when it’s raining pollen around because then, she’ll be bed-ridden. I’ve seen her suffer because of her allergy but the sad part is, no medication can help her. Even her children suffer from the same allergy, at times, all my friend can do is look at the kids when they’re crying whenever the nose is running, with bulging red eyes and sometimes fever.

That’s why if you visit her home, you’ll see that she keeps it clean and that she uses faux plants and flowers as decoration. Good thing she has eyes for interior decorating that her silk plants and flowers really blend with the rest of her furnitures. It was from her that I also learned to appreciate silk flowers. Before it wasn’t my thing as I saw it too fake or ugly. But through her advice and well, a bit of decorating tips, I also now used silk flowers in my own home. Take for instance, I really really love daylilies but this flower gives me an allergy attack once the flower matures and powder starts to drop from the stamens (that’s the long stick looking part in the center .) I stopped buying them because of that. But now, I enjoy them a whole lot more and even bought a bunch for my flower arrangement, they don’t look fake at all because these days, you can hardly tell the difference between the fakes and the real plants and flowers.

A s for the allergy, I can take it…not that bad at all.
