Ever wonder how the inside (of the dome)  of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican city looks like?

Here it is. Visitors are protected by this metal fence. So taking photos from within is not that easy. Also there’s not much room to move. To know more about the biggest known church in the world, you can check out this wikipedia link:

December 11, 2009, our  second day in Rome. We took a hop-on-hop-off bus that takes sightseers around Rome, taking them to all key must-see places. That day we planned to go to The Pantheon but while on the bus I asked my husband to instead we ride all the way to the Vatican, to which he agreed to.

Unlike when I first lay my eyes on the Colosseum, the biggest known church in the world- St. Peter’s Basilica did not gave me that ‘shiver’ BUT still, it was impressive inside and out. I will be sharing more photos on my upcoming posts but for now let me share with you one of the many shots I took upon reaching the top and outside of the church’s dome. I wasn’t  prepared, didn’t know the challenge ahead when I agreed to go to the top. We were first taken up by a lift but after that, +320 steps were needed to be climbed just to reach the top. People along the way were puffing, one of them was me….  I actually stopped 2x and thought I’m having a heart attack, whew! But I did it! And to tell you, it was worth it.  Breathtaking (literally) view ;)

How about you, are you in a good shape? Let me leave you this link in case you aren’t insured yet: health insurance leads.
I promise myself that I’ll be in a better shape the next time we visit Rome. Because there’s still so many places we want to explore! ;)
