Treasure your pets!
Today I heard a very very disturbing news about the two dogs of A family (let me just hide their true identity). You see they had two dogs which three children adored, no question about that. But among them, it’s the head of the family, yes the father, who only considered them as pets, nothing else. I got so mad when I was told that these innocent dogs were given away because the father one day got so mad at the kids that he took it out on their dogs. The kids were devastated but the decision was irreversible. My heart still aches because I know this family.
Sad but true, many humans are ignorant about animals and their place in our community, in our lives. Animals like dogs and cats aren’t just pets for many animal lovers like myself. I love Charlie (see photo) dearly and he sure is a member of our family. He gives love unconditionally no matter how or what he feels. He’s just the sweetest doggy in the whole world.
If only Mr. A understood what the dogs meant to his kids, how at times dogs feel the way we humans do and think the way we do- he would have not punished his kids by removing the dogs. That is why it’s important to have contact with other pets owners so that we can understand more about our pets, share stories and ideas how to be a responsible pet owners. I am a member of several pets communities and the latest I signed up with was with Zootoo.com (username: thesserie , just add me when you sign up.) Zootoo.com is a great “Pet Social Network” for pet lovers to meet. Through contact with other owners we will learn to value our pets more, understand them when they need help too. In this pet social community you can find just about everything about pets, they have programs such as donating food to animal shelters. They also have a list of animal shelters should you need to find one close to your place.
I am quite excited to be a part of this network and I hope the next time I see Mr. A, I’ll have the chance to talk about animals with him, how we should love, value and respect animals.

My heart goes out to the kids. I also feel sorry for the pets. I hope it’s not too late and somehow the father can claim back the dogs for the sake of his kids.

Anyway, I love dogs too, I always had one when I was kid kahit walang breed at asong kalye…i’ll take it, I had one who looks like your charlie (a bulldog) with pure brown coat, I cried lots when he (caster) died, he was still small then…till now I like looking at dogs I see around and fair enough they come near me with wagging tail…naku naman, ang bait ni tatay ha!
My son, coincidentally named the same as your pet, has allergies with them and cats that’s why fish n lang kami…ingat kayo lagi ni charlie jan!
